UF HSC Access GridThe Health Science Center has an Access Grid node in room C1-11. This facility uses Internet2 technology to create a collaborative video interaction with multiple remote sites. There is no charge to use the node and you can schedule a conference by contacting Teaching Labs at 2-2733.
A list of Access Grid nodes around the world is maintained by the Access Grid Project. Use this list to discover sites that can support Access Grid collaboration.
The UF HSC is planning to expand its Access Grid capability by providing switching mechanisms to allow other video-equipped rooms to participate in Access Grid events. As more information about this effort becomes available, it will be posted here.
Technical drawings of the UF HSC Access Grid node are available:
A presentation given December 19, 2001 by Dr. Mike Conlon regarding the Access Grid and other video resources of the UF HSC is available. Dr. Conlon's talk was presented as part of the UF IAIMS Brown Bag lunch series, a monthly series presenting technologies and issues in the use of technology.
For additional information about the UF HSC Access Grid node, please contact the Teaching Labs at 2-2733.
UF has other Access Grid nodes. Greg Goddard at campus Network Services is assisting with their development. See Gregg Goddard's AG Project page. [an error occurred while processing this directive]
